According to a PTI report, a shopkeeper in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi district put up posters and pamphlets of this offer at different places. This offer was valid from March 3 to March 7, which was named ‘Holi Bumper Dhamaka’. On hearing about this offer, people gathered at the shop and started buying phones while drinking beer. As soon as the police officers came to know about this, they reached the shop and dispersed the crowd and arrested the shop owner Rajesh Maurya under section 151 of the Indian Penal Code and sealed the shop.
Police officials said that the environment of the area was getting spoiled by this offer, as well as this method of marketing is not right. Let us tell you, using alcohol for the promotion of any product or service is not right under the Code of Conduct of the Advertising Standards Council of India. Only those people who have got license can use alcohol as promotion. It is illegal to publicly use alcohol for marketing purposes.
